A snippet in the time of our History Museum: Many of you may know, I did not, that the History Museum went through a time of uncertainty in obtaining what was needed to get the Museum off the ground in the early part of this century. In fact, the situation was so dire that the Anderson family considered selling their wonderful Model T Touring Car in order to use the proceeds to help move the Museum forward rather than putting it on display. The Model T was appraised but found to be worth only a drop in the bucket of what was necessary to break ground. It was at this time that fortune began to smile on the Museum with the Horstman house and the warehouse acquisitions becoming available. A miracle occurred around about this same time which was a substantial bequest presented to the Museum by the estate of Neil Willhoit securing the future of the Museum and the Model T Touring Car. It just goes to show how amazing things can happen in such an opportunistic fashion at times.
