On Saturday, March 14, 2026 from 11:00 to 3:o0, the Museum will host its annual Some Like It Hot blacksmithing event and chili competition.

We are all about Burning Brands this year. We’ll be lighting up the forge to create a unique wall mounting filled with local brands. Sign-up to have your family/ranch cattle brand (or your Dad’s or your Granddad’s) added to the museum for a $250 donation. This wall plaque will be displayed in our new building along with a brass plaque identifying of your brand/point of origin/or date.
No brand, no worries! We will provide “steak brand” sized letters and character irons. You can visit our “branding station” in the blacksmith shop to view branding designs and create your personal brand ($25 per character).
- Watch professional blacksmiths and artisans in action in 45 minute sessions starting at 11:00 AM
- Enjoy some incredible chili made by local home chefs starting at 11:00 AM.
- Vote on your favorite chili as our participants vie for the top spot! Chili chefs learn more HERE
- Visit the Pig Iron Club Car Bar, which will be offering handcrafted cocktails, local beer, and wine, as well as delicious pulled pork sandwiches with all the fixings for extra hungry people.
- Outbid your friends in our silent auction featuring local treasures.
- Participate in the popular 50/50 raffle.
